Urban Gardening at the Somerville Public LibraryFood for Thought Urban Gardening Workshops. Until we can meet in person and dig in together, we will videotape our workshops and share gardening how-tos on our YouTube channel. Our next workshop is scheduled for Saturday May 30, when we will learn about trellising the sugar snap peas and thinning the crops our farmer Dani planted in the library's raised bed veggie gardens on April 24. Tech Time at Home Using Zoom Tech Time at Home: Using Zoom. Tuesday, May 26 at 11 am.  Zoom has quickly become one of the most popular ways for people to meet during the current health crisis. From school classes to city town hall meetings, most events these days are on zoom-- and it can be overwhelming if you don’t know all of the ins and outs of the service.Join the Library for a quick, hands-on introduction to zoom. Together, we’ll learn how to join a meeting, and participate, how to set up a meeting, and invite others, how to change who appears on our screen;  how to use mute, and take ourselves off camera; and many other useful things! Tech Time at Home: Shopping for Groceries Tech Time at Home: Shopping for Groceries Online. Thursday, May 28 at 1 pm. Join the Library for a quick overview of options for getting groceries delivered to your home. This session will include: a demo of two leading grocery delivery vendors, what to expect when the shoppers are shopping for you, and a tour of a similar service run by local area farms. Making a Mystery Improv Online Making a Mystery Improv. Thursday, June 4 at 7 pm. Have you ever wondered how authors create a mystery? Here is an opportunity for you to take part in the process! Local authors Elisabeth Elo, Edwin Hill, Lisa Lieberman, and Carolyn Wilkins will take prompts from the audience and create a mystery.
