CAAS provides Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): free Federal and State tax return preparation for low income families in the Somerville area provided by trained volunteers.

Just-A-Start's Tax Help Clinic prepares tax returns at no cost for qualifying taxpayers. The site is Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)-certified, run in partnership with the IRS and the Boston Tax Help Coalition. In 2021, most participants will be assisted remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

CEOC offers free tax preparation to people with low or moderate incomes, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need help in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified staff provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. This service is offered in Haitian Creole, Spanish, Amharic, Portuguese, French and English.
