East Branch News: December 2020

Somerville Public Library East Branch, 115 Broadway

December is generally a quiet month at the East Branch. The days are getting shorter and temperatures are dropping. But we have programs to share with you throughout the month!

Meghan will continue to offer Wednesday morning story times - join us on Facebook Live each week at 11am.

Our East Branch Book Group will meet Friday December 18th to discuss The Truth According to Us by Annie Barrows. Copies of the book are available at the East Branch, and the eBook is available via Libby. To find out more, email Marita at mcoombs@minlib.net.

Our poetry discussion group, Let’s Talk About a Poem with Lloyd Schwartz will meet on Saturday December 19th at 11am. We are excited that Lloyd will continue as Somerville’s Poet Laureate for another year. To register for the program, email Marita at mcoombs@minlib.net.

Another bit of exciting news, cultural passes are back! We are now able to offer passes for discounted admission to the ICA Boston, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Aquarium, Trustees of the Reservations, the Zoo, and the MFA. MFA and Zoo passes are booked entirely online (no trip to the library required). For the other venues, you can pick up your pass from the East Branch if you reserve at least 7 days in advance.  For more information and to reserve a pass, see the reservation page on our website.
