Homework Help
The Reference Staff cannot help you with your homework in the sense of "doing" it or instructing you, but we can help you find library resources that will help you to do your homework yourself. Some of the following Internet links and resources may be of help to you in doing your homework. There are also many books that you can find through the library catalog, or with the assistance of a Reference Librarian, which may help you. Often a good old "book" will help you more quickly and easily, or provide better information, than trying to search on the Internet. Books are often a better place to start, so do not overlook them and just automatically go to the Internet. If you need help searching the catalog, or do not know how, please don't hesitate to ask a Reference Librarian to show you. Many people are not quite sure how to search an electronic catalog, and it is nothing to be embarrassed about. A librarian can quickly and easily teach you the few skills needed, and after that you will be able to do it yourself and find any book in the library.
TEEN SCENE HOMEWORK LINKSFACTS.COM is an excellent database on timely issues, brought to you by the Somerville Public Library (our subscription, not the Minuteman Library System's. See under "Databases Provided by Somerville Public Library). Currently there is an in-depth study on Voting Issues Revisited. Facts.com is available to you over the internet at home, if you are a Somerville resident, by going through Somerville Public Library's website (this address, not MLN) and using your Somerville library card.
